O’Brien Construction is a Full Service General Contractor. The company was founded in 1974; it has subsequently incorporated in the state of Washington in 1978. Today the company has a corporate headquarters located in Tri-Cities Washington. The company’s philosophy was founded on the idea of offering our clients more for their money through superior service, higher quality, and faster time frames. The company routinely works on projects throughout our geographic area encompass’ the entire northwest with Varco-Pruden Metal Building Franchise reaching out both nationally and internationally. Since its inception the company has worked on projects in both the public and private sectors. The projects span from a few hundred to 10’s of million dollars. In just the past five years alone members of this Design/Construction team have completed over 75 million dollars in Design/Build construction. The company’s primary focus has been and will continue to serve our clients with negotiated work utilizing the Design-Build and Construction Management Delivery Systems in both the public and private sectors of the construction community. O’Brien Construction performed work in North Africa and the Middle East from 1978-1985. Our projects in Libya were working with Food Development Corporation (F.D.C.) on Maknussa, Wadi-aril, Sedha 500 cow dairy project and 70,000 ton onion storage in Tripoli and Benghazi. We also did projects in Egypt and Saudi-Arabia.
Experience in Negotiated Work for Past Projects:

O’Brien Construction Co., Inc. currently negotiates a majority (60 to 70 percent) of all work on a cost plus basis. We define Construction Management as an assessment of risk and the ant of project management. In our assessment of risk we look to define possible/probable problems and generate solutions in a proactive manner. The art of project management is to monitor progress and keep the construction team focus on quality/constructability/overall value to the owner/end user.
