Here you will find information concerning our church and its ministries. We hope you find your time spent here a blessing. Our church is a warm and loving church, and we want you to feel comfortable and at liberty to call on us for anything you need. Feel free to browse through the various areas of our website and learn about our fellowship.
In the United Methodist Church we have a long history of working for positive change in the world. Nobel peace-prize winner Nelson Mandela credits the work of The United Methodist Church as one of the major reasons that Apartheid was finally ended in South Africa (that’s a pretty good endorsement). We have had official statements arguing for a living wage, equal rights and complete justice for over 100 years. Our founders were doing prison ministry and working with the poor before they even became a church. The United Methodist Committee on Relief is the second largest relief organization in the world with missionaries and sustained relief efforts in nearly every country in the world. Here at Vashon United Methodist Church we are proud to be a part a Church that has made and is making a difference in peoples lives.
At Vashon United Methodist we consider ourselves to be a church for people who are seeking faith and who have a desire to move deeper into their own spiritual journey. We are a church for people who like to be challenged and inspired. We are a church for people who think for themselves, but who also are willing to keep an open mind and still love those they disagree with. We are a church for people who want to transform the world and create a just society. We are a church that welcomes and encourages diversity. We are a connectional church sharing in the ministries of the third largest Christian denomination in the US. We are a church who seeks to work ecumenically with other churches and religious groups to build stronger communities. If any of these things appeal to you-I hope you will come and find us.
I appreciate that you have taken the chance to connect with us and if you are considering relocating to our area, we would love to have you be our guest for Sunday School and worship.

For information on how the United Methodist Church continues to respond to the earthquake in Haiti our Conference has created a page dedicated to keeping us up to date. You can find what the global church and especially UMCOR are doing.
Our Mission Team is putting together a group that will be headed to Haiti in February so we can have some hands on and eye witness accounts of how things are progressing. The entire church is getting behind their efforts with our book club reading about Haiti, our adult discussion group will be talking about Haiti. We have a dinner and info day coming soon and there will be other opportunities as we approach the trip time and more once they get back as well.
