Urgent Information for Prescribers A new state law requires all licensed prescribers to use approved tamper-resistant pads and paper (TRPP) when doing hard copy, written prescriptions. This law goes into effect July 1, 2010.
Washington State Board of Pharmacy approved TRPP is widely available and easily recognized by the Board’s seal of approval.
The new law does not affect prescriptions given to the
pharmacist by telephone, by electronic transmission, by
fax, or for in-patient care. For more information go to
the webpage at http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/TRPP/Default.htm(posted 5/19/10)
