We stock well over 100,000 titles, and it is easy to search our complete collection from all four locations online. Curious about how we handle our internet orders? Arundel Books was founded in 1984 to publish original editions of literature and graphic arts. We continue to publish work we believe in, and hope you take the opportunity to browse our publications.

Our Vashon Island Book affiliate has purchased an incredible building on Vashon Island (a short ferry ride from West Seattle). We are truly thrilled about this, and about our plans to turn this new property into something truly unique and special. To get an idea of what we are working on, please visit our work-in-progress website, www.thebookarts.org, where more information is being added almost every day.

In other news, after more than two decades, we have closed our Los Angeles store, and are in the process of moving the inventory and exhibit fixtures to the new building on Vashon (the entire store inventory remains available on this website).

Arundel Books whole-heartedly endorses this new children's picture book by Seattle author Katie Corl. If you want to make the children in your life more aware of food allergies, "Pesky Peanut" can help.

This small picture book for children carries a big message about food allergies. According to the CDC, food allergies affect over 10 million Americans, and almost 4% of America's children. As the CDC says, "At present, there is no cure for food allergies. The best method for managing food allergies is prevention by way of strict avoidance of any food that triggers a reaction." With hundreds of deaths and thousands of hospitalizations every year, there is clearly a need for increased efforts at prevention. But how DO you teach children about food allergies, whether their own or those of people around them?

"Only recently I began to consider the possibility that youth is gone, and that I'd better damn soon figure out what I'm going to be when I grow up... I've had about enough of this pondering profound half-truths in cold empty rooms, and look forward to making some attempt at metempsychosis from this shade into a human being."
