Selecting the best propeller for your boat. The best prop size for "TOP SPEED" is based on your boats maximum RPM range, This range is in your owners manual. If your current propeller allows your motor to achieve rated RPM within the recommended range then your boat is delivering it's top speed. The best prop size for top speed will prevent the motor from going beyond its maximum rated RPM.
The best prop for maximum "PULLING POWER" for water skiing and wake boarding is in most cases two inches less pitch than the "TOP SPEED"
propeller. If you are not satisfied with your boats pulling power you will simply need to order a propeller with two inches less pitch. This will allow your motor to accieve well beyond it's recommended RPM range but deliver maximum pulling power. Do not operate beyond your motor's operating range.
In most cases two inches of pitch will increase or decrese your boat RPM by 400 RPM. If you increase pitch by two inches you will drop 400 RPM. If you decrease two inches of pitch you will gain 400 RPM.
