KENT, Wash. November 3, 2010 - Pet owners who fail to obtain pet licenses now face fines, and King County Regional AnimalServices officers are providing additional patrols throughout Kent to enforce the new rules which went into effect October 1.

ShoWare Center Wins Green Washington Award from Seattle Business Magazine
KENT, Wash. September 24, 2010 Kents ShoWare Center, was named the winner of Seattle Business Magazines Green Washington award in the sports arena category. One of 13 winners, ShoWare Center was chosen from over 100 nominees for demonstrating leadership, innovation and commitment to sustaining the environment. The award was presented at Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle Thursday, September 23 at a special event honoring all finalists.Read More >
Kent Named One of the Nations 100 Best Communities for Young People by Americas Promise Alliance and ING
KENT, Wash. September 21, 2010 The efforts of Kent civic and community leaders were honored today when Americas Promise Alliance (the Alliance), the nations largest partnership organization dedicated to youth and children, announced the city had been named a winner of the Alliances 100 Best Communities for Young People (100 Best) competition presented by ING. Its 2010 recognition marks the first win for Kent in the competition.Read More >
Morford Family Carousel Opening Pushed Back to July 16
KENT, Wash. July 1, 2010 The Morford Family Carousel will take its first spins on Friday, July 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The City and the non-profit operating group had planned to open on July 14, as soon after Cornucopia Days as possible. But set-up, including a required electrical inspection, could not be guaranteed within such a tight window.
