Finca La Florida sits at the very top of slim ridge above the small town of Timbio in Cauca Southern Colombia.
Don Manuel floats the beans after washing which removes the underdeveloped and lower quality beans from the

We are moving forward this year (finally) to purchase Celso David Mayta Quispe’s coffee Cafe Golondrina outside of the Cup of Excellence auction program. We have identified targets with Celso and our exporter and have agreed to to pay very high price for high quality. Our goal is always for delicious coffee for you, economic sustainability and success for all the farmers who grow our coffee at Olympia Coffee.

This is very special, not only is Kiaora a lush, sweet, juicy classic Kenyan coffee, it is extremely rare. Kenya Kiaora is our first ever Kenyan coffee, along with being the first certified organically grown coffee from Kenya. Being an organic coffee roaster can be limiting. The variety of coffees we see that are certified organic are most prevalent in the Americas. East African coffee in particular are almost never certified organic. At Olympia coffee we have never roasted a coffee from Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, and up until now Kenya.

For the last week, the international jury (including myself) have gathered to cup the best coffees from Colombia in Pasto Narino.
This week has been focused and diligent, and an incredible amount of fun.
The process of finding Colombia’s best coffee started with 875 farmers submitting their coffees for the competition.
