Harbor Healing Center has been in operation in downtown Kingston since January of 2001. Located upstairs in the Old Kingston Hotel, theclinic offers acupuncture and herbal services in a beautiful, historic setting.
Just about every type of health condition can be helped with the ancient art of acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine, and at Harbor Healing Center we treat a wide variety of conditions.
Acupuncture is probably most well-known for its treatment of acute and chronic pain, and has a proven history of effective pain relief. A series of acupuncture treatments can usually alleviate or at least greatly reduce a painful condition. The results will depend on the severity of the condition, as well as how long it has been a problem. A condition that has been ongoing for years will generally not respond to treatment as quickly as one that has only been a problem for a few months. Ideally, treatments for pain should begin on a twice-a-week basis. Once progress has been made, treatments can be spaced out to once a week, then once every two weeks, until eventually treatments can be given on a maintenance or as-needed basis.
Women's health care is another areain whichChinese medicine is particularly successful. Good health is all about balance. In order to be healthy there must be a balance of the vital energies of the body -- Qi and Blood and Yin and Yang. This becomes even more important as we age. Energetic deficiencies and/or stagnation can cause fatigue and illness. Whether a woman is suffering from PMS, perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms, or simply fatigue, acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be extremely helpful. Harbor Healing Center provides a supportive environment for women to receive personalized care throughout all the stages of life.
Acupunctureis also a wonderful support for a stressful life. People are usually quite surprised at how relaxed they feel after an acupuncture treatment.
Acupuncturecan help the body and mind relearn how to relax.
Chinese medicine works best as aregular part of ahealth program. Seeking treatment only when a condition becomes acute is not the best approach. Preventative treatments can keep the body in balance, and can help to prevent many ailments.
