What happens when we cancel church to go be the church? When instead of serving the body of Christ, we go and serve as the body of Christ? When instead of sitting, we walk, talk, knit, visit, pray, pull weeds, mow lawns, rake leaves, handout flowers, pick up trash, scrubs walls, feed the poor and care for the sick? Sometime beatiful happens, it's called Service Sunday.

Sunday, November 7th we held our fourth Service Sunday. Instead of having our worship gathering we had over 120 people go serve in tweleve different service projects all across Whatcom County. We were able to put smiles on the faces of nursing home residents, feed and love men suffering with HIV/AIDS, provide a brunch for women and children who have been abused and homeless and so much more. I'm proud to be a pastor at a church that is willing to step out in faith and take a risk. I'm proud to be a pastorat a church that is willing to live for more than just itself. I'm proud to be a pastor of people willing to give some of their best time and energy to show the love of Christ to Whatcom County! Thank you people of Northside for being willing to serve and give just as Jesus Christ has served and gave for us. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

CAMA is the relief arm of our churches. It exists to serve the poor and share the gospel by turning "relief into belief". CAMA has established a foundation of love among Indonesians who lost everything but their lives during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. With the aid of a generous Alliance constituency, CAMA provided immediate relief and helped to rebuild lives, building homes as well as fishing boats to resume livelihoods.
Six years later, CAMA workers are still there, and have come alongside nationals to develop agricultural projects. But they need your help to continue. Northside is partnering with CAMA this Thanksgiving to give toward this project. You can give by writing "Thanksgiving offering" in the memo line of your check or on the giving envelope, or through e-pay on the line for account number.
