Elem. bake sale supporting the Montessori Community team "Trekking for Tylee" as they prepare for the 60 mile cancer awareness walk.
Wear Pink Day - show your support for the Montessori team "Trekking for Tylee", volunteers needed to cut pink ribbons. Team will be walking 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen walk over 3 days. Funds support raising awareness of cancer prevention and finding a cure for cancer.
Woodland Park Zoo Field Trip - all classes, commercial buses used for transportation of both students and parent chaperones. Special guest scheduled for the African village tour. Buses load at 9:00, visit zoo exhibits from 10:00-1:45, buses return to school by 3:00-3:15. Classes bring a sack lunch & eat together with their chaperones. Students wear school t-shirts or a red shirt. Cost: $18
We kick off our Summer Reading program with a Scholastic Book Fair at school 6/2-6/4. Books will be available for purchase at special "Summer Reading" prices. Children's Public Librarian will visit at 1:00 with Rms. C2 & C3, 1:25 with Rm. C1 and 1:50 with Rm. B1 to talk about Summer Reading program.

Registration forms are available on-line or by visiting the office. For families new to Montessori we encourage you to read the information on this website and then come visit us. You and your child are welcome to tour the different classrooms and meet the teachers Monday-Wednesday at 4:00 during the regular school year. No appointment is necessary. During the summer we take a number of field trips. It's best if you call ahead to let us know you are coming.

Full Time and Extended Care We offer a high quality program for families needing Full Time Care in
Building A for children ages 3-6.
For currently enrolled students, Extended Care is available before school from 7:00-8:30 and after school from 3:30-6:00 Monday through Friday. Space is limited. Details
We are looking for a volunteer to offer cooking classes to parents. Interested? You would be responsible for organizing your program, creating flyers for the class you would like to offer and then signing up parents. Interested?
Two volunteers needed to help with the final construction of a small deck (8' x 14' x 16" off the ground) for the students in Room A4.
Wish List After school elementary age program.
Looking for a parent to teach:
1. Beginning yoga class for kids- 3:30-4:30 on Wednesdays.
2. Geocaching in the neighborhood - parent willing to teach students about this new sport.
3. Chess club - we have 12 chess boards and the tools to teach a group of students. Class would be 6-8 weeks long. Interested? You don't have to be a grand master. Students would be grades second and up.
4. Mind Storms - parent willing to teach about robotics using the school's Lego Mind Storm system.
5. Origami Class - a fun way to learn the ancient Japanese art of paper folding.
6. Jump rope drill team
7. Astronomy Class - beginning class on the use of a telescope and finding specific stars in the sky.
8. After school drama class
Let Mr. Washburn know if you would like to put together any of the above programs to offer our students. If you have the talent we can help you get off to a smooth start. Instructor fees based on class size.
