JGWS welcomes Tonia S. Winchester to the Firm. Tonia previously practiced in the City of Seattle Attorney's Office as a Rule 9 Intern prosecuting misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal violations. Most recently she was employed as a criminal investigator for a public defender firm in Seattle. Currently, Tonia is assigned to prosecute criminal cases for the City of Wenatchee. We are excited to have her join the JGWS family.

Steve Smith and Danielle Marchant, partners at JGWS, successfully obtained an order dismissing clients from a lawsuit when the lawsuit named the clients, personally, and their corporation. JGWS represents many individuals and entities in commerical disputes. In addition to litigation, JGWS assists individuals in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations.
Steve Smith, partner at JGWS, was the keynote speaker at the Badger Mountain Lodge Junior Achievement Awards ceremony on May 20, 2010 at Waterville, Washington. The Lodge honors the boy and girl of the year from Waterville and Mansfield high schools, as well as the teacher of the year from each of those high schools. Mr. Smith’s speech included insights on what employers look for when hiring new employees in the way of competency, personality and ambition. The speech focused on education and skill sets desired by employers, developing social skills and relationships with other people, goal setting and goal achieving.

Joe Woolett, partner at JGWS, and Jordan Miller, associate at JGWS, attended the LAP/Lawyer Services Department 13th Annual Statewide Conference that focused on effective communications with clients, peers and other counsel. Mr. Miller was also a co-facilitator for one of the programs at this Conference. The Conference was sponsored by the Washington State Bar Association.
Danielle Marchant, partner at JGWS, recently attended an educational seminar sponsored by the Washington State Bar Association. The seminar focused on litigating personal injury claims from the injured party's perspective. Ms. Marchant's practice includes working on behalf of injuried individuals to obtain compensation for their injuries.
