Our belief is that in order for clients to live a fulfilled life they should be integrated into the family unit with which they live. Therefore, your loved one does not live in our home, but is a member of our family. Great effort on our part will be given to include clients in daily activities. We think that participation in household activities should be encouraged because physical and mental stimulation promotes a holistic well being. Your continued support and presence are welcome in our home. We believe that your family's participation helps promote a positive effect on your family member. We consider ourselves open-minded individuals with the ability to adapt to change. With this in mind, we strongly encourage your thoughts, concerns, and ideas, so we can serve your family at our highest potential.
Activities and Services:
Activities are planned and individualized to resident desires and interests. It is important to keep in mind that the person you are caring for may or may not be as active as they were at one time. Sometimes either physical or mental declines can make the simplest activities difficult or undesirable. We have also experienced residents that refuse outings and activities due to anxiety or depression caused from loss of independence and isolating behaviors. With some time, some of these residents are able to adjust and acquire new tasks. Oftentimes, families inform us of the type of hobbies that their loved one likes or dislikes.
Choosing a caregiver is one of the most difficult tasks. We first look for someone that has been referred to us by either family or friends, or from one of our trusted employees. From there we have interviews followed with a work training program. During this time, the caregiver is directly trained one-on-one with another PNC staff member and takes appropriate certified courses. Our caregivers have been extremely happy with their jobs, which has resulted in an average length of employment of over two years. They are honest, trustworthy individuals that usually have a strong Christian background that supports them through difficult care issues.
