111/10/10 AM The USDA report was mainly about beans, with minor wrinkles in corn's and wheat's balance sheets. Not enough new news or 'technical fortitude' to carry the day. Accordingly, wheat futures' values slumped. EU economic uncertainties also added to downside pressure. Following the US dollar has provided some trading guidance in volatile market conditions. Chinese economic growth progress and commodity demand levels remain an integral part of an international trading platform. Overnight, Egypt, the world's largest wheat importer, booked a total of 235,000 Mt of French, US and Australian wheat for January 11-20 shipment. The breakdown and FOB pricing is: 115,000 Mt of US ( 60,000 Mt of SWW @ $7.975 and 55,000 Mt SRW @ $8.3275) ; 60,000 Mt of French @ $8.525; and, 60,000 Mt from Australia @ $8.19. The Nile biz was a needed and revealing transaction Good sign .............. SWW wheat to Egypt.
11/10/10 PM Heavy technicals and a firmer buck (Chinese fiscal policy and EU economic worries) caused another round of futures' selling. Overall, managed money favors commodity ownership. The Egyptian purchase of SWW helped stabilize track bids and muffled some of Chicago's interference.
