FLEA POLICY: Who wants to fight a flea problem? Not me!
In order to keep my grooming shop clean from fleas my policy is as follows:
If you know or suspect your dog has fleas please tell me. If I find fleas, the first thing I will do is give them a CAPSTAR pill. This is a safe flea-killing product that begins killing fleas usually within 30 minutes. The active ingredient in CAPSTAR (nitenpyram) will kill almost all the adult fleas in 4 hours. There is a $7.00 fee for one pill. I will then give the dog(s) a "Flea Bath" with natural flea bath products. There is an additional $5.00 fee for the flea bath.
I feel that attacking this problem right away will keep my shop and your dog as clean and flea free as possible. The rest of the work is up to you for home treatment and applying a topical flea medication like "Frontline Plus."
Here in Wenatchee fleas are not a very big problem, but from time to time ticks can be a pest to your pets. If I find ticks I will remove them and give a FLEA and TICK bath. At a $5.00 additional fee.
