Geri Grubbs, Ph.D., sees adults and children for a variety of issues, including depression, bereavement, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and marriage and family conflicts. She utilizes Jungian methods in her work that include the processing of dreams and unconscious dynamics, sandplay therapy, guided imagery and meditation.

With children, she uses play, sandplay, drawing, and creative arts. Geri also works with couples and families using the same methods, in addition to communication skill building and conflict resolution.

Spirituality is an important aspect of Geri’s work, both personally and professionally. Her specialty is life in transition with a focus on spiritual awakening and deepening. She also offers workshops and sandplay trainings for mental health professionals and is available for consultation and supervision.

Jungian analysis, as developed by Carl Jung, is a depth psychology that considers the essential Self (soul or true essence of one’s being), as the primary healing agent of the psyche. The Self is viewed as an inner guide that has the potential of bringing about a constant extension and maturing of the personality.

When engaged in Jungian analysis, you will be encouraged to explore dynamic images that are revealed in your dreams, fantasies, and creative expressions. Through an active engagement with these symbolic structures, you will become more aware of inner conflicts that interfere with positive relationships and life callings. From there, you can then make conscious life-enhancing changes to your life.

“Everything living dreams of individuation, for everything strives towards its own wholeness – and the greatest possible actualization of the Self is the aim of life.” — Carl Jung

“Freedom means the power to act by soul guidance, not by the compulsions of desires and habits. Obeying the ego leads to bondage; obeying the soul brings liberation.” — Paramahansa Yogananda
