Hello and welcome to On Location. My name is Patrick, I'll be your host today. My wife Laura and I have been taking pictures professionally since 1995.

We call ourselves small-time professionals because we do it as a sideline. I'm in the grocery business and Laura is our church organist/piano teacher. I plan on retiring early from the grocery business and being a full-time professional photographer in the next year or so and Laura is just going to do whatever her heart desires, probably the same thing.

I first showed interest in photography right out of high school when I bought an old Canon AE-1 from a friend. Since then my passion for photography has grown and grown. I've got most of my training from reading, I'm not into reading fictional books, if I'm going to read, I'm going to learn.
Since my old Canon AE-1, we've gone through a few cameras and are very happy with our current configuration; we use Canon autofocus cameras.

We're called "On Location" because we work out of our home and don't have a studio; that way we can come to you or a location you like, for example a park, or your backyard or even your garage.
