A GREEN PRINT STUDIO
Running a fine art print studio is a truly wonderful experience. We do, however, have concerns about the wastefullness of so much paper - especially on Whidbey Island, where sustainability is not just a trend, it's a way of life.

We're proud to say that we have expanded our offerings of tree-free fine art papers!
FBIStudios now stocks the following archival fine art papers for giclee printing:
Hahnemhle Bamboo - 90% Bamboo fiber, 10% Cotton Rag
Hahnemhle Sugar Cane - 75% Sugar Cane fiber, 25% Recycled Cotton
Moab Moenkopi Unryu Kozo - 100% Mulberry fiber
We have also partnered with a local interiors studio to acquire hand-made rice paper, lohkta and other bark papers from Nepal and Tibet. These are available in 20x30 sheets, and only by special request.
THE NOT-QUITE-PAPERLESS OFFICE
One area of concern that took a little more research was in the most mundane, but highest volume paper usage: office paper...for invoices, orders, receipts, and all of the day-to-day office "stuff".
The "big-box" office suppliers offer nothing better than 30% post-consumer recycled laser/copy paper, and even that is at a premium cost (which never has made sense...no more than organic foods costing more, eh?).
But we found it...100% post-consumer unbleached office paper! You can order it yourself at Echo Paper. It's even available in tabloid (11x17) and legal sizes! And at 25% less than "regular" unrecycled office paper.
