My name is Leanne Monroe andI would like to give everyone a little background on Electrology and hopefully answer any questions you may have about the procedure.

First of allI want to stress the importanceofchoosing a safeand qualifiedElectrologist and what to expect and look forin the state of Washington. Unfortunately Washington state isvery different than most statesthroughout the U.S. Washington has no licensing for electrology and that means anyone can buy a machine andopen up a business here without any schooling, education, or passing any state boards.

This also means that it is not regulated or inspected by the state so there is no one regulatingif the procedure is being done properly and in a safe manner and worst of all there is no one regulating how things are sterilized and this is a very serious matter. I have workedin the health care field for a long time and understand the importance of protecting myself andothers from blood born pathogens and staying current with OSHA standards.

I attendedfully accredited school for electrologyinOregon which was the closest state with a board certified school. They have very strict regulations on licensing and state health inspections andI continue to follow those guidelines here in Washington. I have even insisted on random stateinspections on our office even though they are not required and I had to pay forthem to come out.I feel itis very important for individuals to knowthese things when choosing an electrologist.
