Tessa (expectant mother)- -joined the family in September 2008. This picture was taken in April 2010. She is not related to either Braddock or Mandy. Tessa has Champion bloodlines as well as conformation and most importantly the characteristics we desire in a Boxer. For now we are training her, with positive re-enforcement (yes she actually likes doggy bones, a first for us). Tessa is very playful and like most boxers, everything in the mouth, so we have lots of dog bones around the house for her to chew on. Tessa has also gone to dog school and has graduated. Levi our son enjoys playing with her because she has a strong chase instinct and chases anything Levi will throw.
Mandy (retired) -was born on 11/26/2002 in the Kennewick, Washington - Mandy is much more serious than Braddock, but often goes off to play out in the yard with him. Mandy came into our lives also as a puppy and also attended puppy school and graduated. Mandy will talk at length about all of her responsibilities. She has been with our family the longest and knows a few more tricks than Braddock. Mandy has been trained to use the restroom on command, which is helpful on those cold mornings and on road trips. Mandy has been a very good mother in the past, hardly leaving the puppies at all in her three litters. She spent most of her time feeding and cleaning them. Mandy is quick on her feet at learning new tricks or playing tricks on Braddock. Mandy is much smaller than Braddock at only around 60 pounds, we usually end up with a mix of medium size dogs and larger boxers. Mandy was neutered in December 2009. She will reside with us for her natural life. She has been a wonderful watchdog and great with our three year old son.
General info about Boxers
Having a boxers is a lot like having a two year old around the house. Boxers are a short hair breed that are very social, and do not do well if not socialized on a regular basis and live with their families. Boxers need lots of love and attention. Boxer puppies also need puppy school. Buyers of our puppies proving they have completed a community based obedience class with our puppies, will be rewarded with a cash incentive ( See Cash incentive for details).
