My career has always been about hair. About twenty years ago I became interested in hair replacement. I mostly saw male clients in the beginning, Then I began to see women and children with hair loss problems.
I knew it was time for me to get more education.
I researched information about hair replacement for women and children, as well as for men. I began to get calls from chemotherapy patients desiring hair replacement systems. It was very important to me to be able to help them and make them feel comfortable. Since then, I have done extensive research for chemotherapy patients, finding wigs and hats specifically designed for their needs. It has been very rewarding to me to have the knowledge to help people. I continue to pursue education and new developments in hair replacement. I truely believe that I can use this knowledge to help people....................and that is why I'm here!
Q:What is Hair Replacement?
A:Hair replacement is a non -surgical partial hair addition added to exsisting hair to give the appearance of a fuller, natural head of hair.
Q:Who needs hair replacement?
Androgenic alopecia: Male pattern baldness, affects men and women.
Alopecia Areata: Patchy hair loss of the scalp.
Alopecia Totalis: Total hair loss of the scalp.
Alopecia Universalis: Total hair loss of the entire body.
Traction Alopecia: Hair loss due to tension and phsyical stress on the hair.
Telogen Effluvium: Hair loss caused by phsyical and emotional stress, hormones and medications.
Anagen Effluvium: Generally due to administered medications, such as chemotherapy, that poison the hair folicle.
And other traumas that cause hair loss such as injuries and burn victims.
Q:Will it look natural?
A:You can beleive it! The latest innovations in hair systems are 100% undetectable! If you can tell that someone has a hair system, you are detecting a poor system sold by some companies. In reality, you are unaware of many hair systems because they are undetectable.
Q:How does it stay on?
A: Partial hair additions are attatched in a variety of ways, either anchored to the existing hair or the scalp. Existing hair attatchments are dependant on the growing existing hair, therefore must be reattatched or tightened as the existing hair grows. Systems attatched to the scalp use non-surgical attatchments such as two-sided tapes, clips and improved waterproof liquids. Your stylist will help you to determine the best attatchment to suit your personal needs.
Q:Will I have to change my hair style?
A:Our customers are able to achieve the same hairstyle they've had, but for those who desire a change, the possibilities are endless: short hair, very long hair, parted or not, whatever you wish. You can also have the hair system highlighted or lightened, add curl or wave, and use mousse, just like your own hair. Our stylists will spend a great amount of time with you ensuring that you have a perfect match of both color and texture. Your absolute satisfaction is guarenteed and your visits are kept totally confidential.
Q:What will I tell people?
A:The closest people in your life might notice your hair, but you may be suprised to see that most people will never even notice a change or say anything at all! You may chose to tell close family and friends about your decision to have a hair system. This may be helpful for support, but this is clearly a matter of preference and your need to be comfortable.
