Newport Presbyterian Church is an inclusive Christian community seeking new, uncharted ways of faithfulness and service while continuing to embrace our rich traditions. It is Christ whose life and ministry form and guide us as we seek to live the good news, proclaiming God's grace and extending God's radical hospitality to all. Read more... We are located in South Bellevue within easy reach of Issaquah, Newcastle, and Renton. Find us from our map and directions.

We have something for everyone this Christmas Eve and the following Sunday. Come worship and celebrate! Christ is born and the dance of true love on earth begins.

December 24th at 4:00 p.m.
Come and enjoy a family-friendly service with the Joyful Express Childrens Choir, Newports Handbell Choir, reading the Christmas story, carol singing and ending with the lighting of candles and singing Silent Night.

December 24th at 10:00 p.m.
This is a beautiful service filled with scripture readings, carols, sermon and communion, the singing of
anthems by the Chancel Choir accompanied by oboe, English horn and harp, ending with candle lighting and the singing of Silent Night.

December 26th at 10:00 a.m.
There will only be one service on this Sunday. This will be a more informal service where we will have the opportunity to sing many of our favorite Christmas carols.

During December we invite the congregation todonate funds to help decorate the Sanctuary for
Advent and Christmas. A dedication in honor or memory of a loved one will be included in the Christmas Eve bulletin.
If you would like to participate, forms will be distributed
during worship in December or you may submit them at any time. The suggested donation is $10.00; any excess funds will be donated to Hopelink. Make your check payable to Newport
Presbyterian Church and mark Poinsettias on the memo line.

Our Faith Stories class started on November 28th.We will be reading the following stories from the book edited by C. Michael Curtis:

Newport's annual Giving Tree is up and ready for your participation! The gifts will go to the Bellevue Hopelink's Holiday Room where parents and grandparents shop with points and toTreehouse for children in foster care. Please pick one or more tags and return the gift(s) (unwrapped) to the tree as early in December as possible. Gifts received before December 15 will be divided between the two agencies and most of those received after that date will go to Treehouse. If you would like a receipt for tax purposes for your donation, please leave a note or call Betty Spohn at (425) 451-3651.Volunteers are always needed by Hopelink to help with this holiday project. Sorting and arranging the gifts will take place the week of December 1317 and help is needed during the time the parents pick out gifts which will be December 20, 2l and 22. There is also a need for volunteers with vans or trucks to pick up gifts from various organizations. Please call Hopelink at (425) 943-7555 if you can help in one of these ways.

With the La Nia forecast for this winter, the needs of those at the Compass Center/Family and Adult Service Center are greater than ever. Warm clothing (large XL and XXL) such as jackets, sweatshirts, long sleeve knit shirts, washable sweaters, etc., would be a welcome gift for Christmas. New white crew sox, gloves, hats and new underwear are needed for both men and women. Children's sweatshirts, jackets, hats, gloves, sweaters and sox are also needed. Please leave items in the red box in the narthex.

One of our goals at Mission and Peacemaking is to make opportunities available to you to do mission work here and now with your family and friends from Newport. We carefully select who we support and always stay consistent with our Mission Statement.

Here are some causes you can support by volunteering now: Hopelink, Bridge Ministries, Homes for Haiti, Sophia Way, Congregations for the Homeless and many others. Just go to Mission on our website (www.newportpres.org) for a complete list. Now pick one, call or email any of us on the committee and we will be happy to helpyou get involved. If you have a passion for a cause that you would like us to look at,let us know about it, or better yet, come to a meeting; we would love to have you join us.
