Welcome Home!
While shopping to buy balloons for the 15th anniversary celebrations at Yoga Centers, my eyes were drawn to a balloon with the words “WELCOME HOME” in joyful colors. I felt guided to buy it, but thought, “What does this have to do with our anniversary celebration?” My inner voice clearly replied, “Yoga is all about learning to feel at home in the body, as well as on this planet.”
As I heard these words from within, my mind looked back at my life before yoga had entered into it. The knowledge of yoga helped me to welcome myself home – into my body and on this earth. I realized that when we feel lost, sad, confused, stuck, stiff, pain, our bodies are telling us that we have lost contact with the most important part of us, our spirit. Therefore, we must use our breath, actions, thoughts and feelings to welcome our spirit into our first and most important physical home, our bodies.
So, I bought two balloons to share this message at the anniversary celebrations.
At Yoga Centers, we teach the mind, the body, and the emotions how to be at home with the spirit.
The variety in the asanas we teach open and awaken your body, so that you feel comfortable and grounded as you live in it. We hope that, one day, you will sit in your body as you do in your favorite chair, feeling safe, peaceful and at ease! The precision of pranayama (yogic breathing) teaches your breath to bring the gift of life into your body so that you can feel more alive and at home. As you chant the word “Om” in asana class, feel the sound resonate the word “home.”
We offer a range of workshops to help you learn more about the many facets of your nature, so that you can truly feel your spirit in your body saying, “Welcome home.”
Our meditation offers simple moment-to-moment techniques guiding your mind to your heart (home is where the heart is), where your wiser voice can be felt and heard, uniting all parts of you into your physical home, the body.
We also offer the ultimate fast food through the highly nutritious herbal formulas of Sunrider® so that you stay nourished easily. Our lectures on nutrition teach you more about other ways to nourish your body with the gifts of our earthly home.
Yoga Centers is decorated with forms and colors that whisper softly, “Welcome home.” As Sri Aurobindo said, “All life is yoga.” May you choose the many ways in which Yoga Centers offers you the art and science of feeling at home in your body. This feeling will help you realize that this wonderful planet is also our home.
Each time you walk into Yoga Centers, may you feel all of us – Aadil and I, the teachers and the staff – saying, “Welcome Home,” since this is the true gift of yoga.
